VOLUNTEER LEADERS

YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS.

Cypress is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. With 13 high schools, and more than 30 middle schools, it is hard to keep up with this growth.

The mission of Young Life in Cypress has always been to give every kid in our area the opportunity to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. In order for this to happen, we need caring, adult volunteers who are willing to give of their time, energy, and resources by stepping into the lives of high school kids.

And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Luke 10:2)

The Cypress Young Life staff has been praying for laborers to the harvest. Check out the video below to see more about what being a volunteer leader can do in the lives of high school students.

FAQ'S

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT TO BEING a volunteer?

Like most volunteer opportunities, it can look different for every person. For most people it is 1-3 nights per week. Monday and Wednesday nights (from ~7:00-9:00) are our weekly scheduled events plus a school-related function on Friday nights usually. However, our hope is that you would serve in whatever capacity your season of life allows.

What qualifications do I need to have?

We like to say, "Love Jesus and show up." More than anything, your presence in the lives of high school kids is the thing that will point them most to Christ. You do not need to be a biblical scholar, comfortable teacher, or an engaging public speaker. You do not have to be young, extroverted, or have unlimited resources. All we ask is that you show up where high school kids are point them towards Jesus.

did i need to be involved in high school to volunteer?

Not at all! Our staff and volunteer teams will walk with you to teach you Young Life as you serve.
